The Creature of the Night quest in Batman: Arkham Knight offers one of the most memorable side missions in the entire game. Players encounter the terrifying Man-Bat soaring through the skies of Gotham, prompting a multi-part investigation to cure Dr. Kirk Langstrom. Completing this Most Wanted mission requires a blend of aerial tracking, lab work, and story progression.
Starting the Quest and Obtaining the First Blood Sample
The quest triggers unexpectedly when you scale a building on Miagani Island and encounter Man-Bat. After the initial jump scare, Batman must track the creature using Detective Vision to pick up its screeches in the night sky. Gliding from a high vantage point allows you to tackle Man-Bat in mid-air and extract a initial blood sample.
Once you secure the sample, Batman sets a waypoint to Dr. Langstrom's secret laboratory located on Bleake Island. Investigating the lab reveals the tragic origin of the mutation through security logs.
Synthesizing the DNA Cure
Inside the laboratory, you must interact with the computer terminal to sequence a clean DNA strand. This mini-game requires you to align DNA markers using the controls while keeping the integrity percentage stable. Successfully matching the sequence yields a viable antidote to cure Dr. Langstrom.
With the cure synthesized, you need to locate Man-Bat for a second time as he circles Bleake Island. Tackling him again allows Batman to administer the first dose of the cure, though further treatment is needed.
Final Encounters and Transporting to GCPD
To finish the mission, you must advance the main story until the Assault on Panessa Studios phase is complete. Following this narrative milestone, Man-Bat makes his final appearance flying over Founders' Island.
Intercepting him one last time allows Batman to administer the final dose and fully stabilize Dr. Langstrom. After the creature transforms back into human form, Batman transports Langstrom to the GCPD lockup to finalize the quest.
